Amalfi Coast
Vertical villages above the sea, lemon groves and ceramics: Positano, Amalfi and Ravello.
The Amalfi Coast: the Mediterranean, Vertically
Few landscapes are as instantly recognisable as the Amalfi Coast. For some fifty kilometres the road clings to the cliffs between Positano and Vietri sul Mare, while the villages tumble down to the water in terraces of lemon trees, majolica domes and seemingly endless stairways. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
Each village has its own character. Positano is theatrical and sociable, Amalfi still carries the memory of an ancient maritime republic around its cathedral, and Ravello looks down on it all from its historic gardens and summer music festival. The sea remains the most graceful way to get around, especially in the busiest months.
Covellea's Amalfi Coast selection favours family-run residences and historic palazzi where service is personal and the view is part of the stay. Each address links to its official website, and our concierge is happy to help you think through how to plan your time here.
